When you hire a professional cleaning company to do your routine office cleaning, you expect a certain level of cleanliness to follow. But if they come in after hours or when no one is in the building, how can you know for certain that they are really doing a good job? Aside from the obvious amount of visible dirt, dust, and debris, how do you know for certain that the crew you have hired will perform week to week to the agreed upon standards? Today, we are looking at some basic signs that your office cleaning crew is doing a good job.

Consistency

When you walk into your office space, you should be able to notice that day after day everything is the same level of clean. There should be no obvious differences from one day to the next that show that the cleaning crew missed a spot of skipped a room or passed by a garbage can without emptying it. If you walk in and things do not look or smell clean each day, then you may need to look into what has changed. Another way a good cleaning crew is consistent is in using the same people each time they clean your office. This allows the crew to be familiar with your space and what your needs are. They will know things like if you have someone who regularly works late and needs the crew to accommodate their schedule.

Organization

If your office cleaning crew uses a closet or cupboard in your office to store cleaning supplies, take a look inside it. If your cleaning crew is doing a good job, you will find that their supplies are neat and tidy. Things are kept in an organized and easy-to-access fashion. The supplies themselves will be a good quality and any necessary safety or personal protection equipment will be readily available.

Time

If you really to be sure your cleaning crew is doing a good job, make note of how much time they are spending on the job. A good team will not rush to finish the job. Efficiency is important, so you want a team who can get the job done in a timely manner, but they should still be taking the time to ensure that nothing is overlooked.

Some cleaning products require a certain amount of dwell time, sometimes called pre-treatment or soak time, in order to properly clean and sanitize. If these products are simply sprayed and wiped away immediately, then they are not going to be effective. A good cleaning crew will know what these dwell times are and will make sure to follow them when cleaning your office space, even if that means spraying the cleaning products them working on something else while the products dwell.

Communication

One additional way to tell your cleaning crew is doing a good job is how easy they are to get ahold of. If you need to make a change to your schedule or contract, you should be able to easily contact someone who can make that adjustment for you. Your cleaning crew should also be regularly following up to ensure that you are satisfied with the level of cleanliness in your office space. No matter what, communication is the key to knowing that your office cleaning crew is helping to making your office space the best it can be.
